What is a curfew? Most parents consider a curfew to be the time when their teenagers must be in from an evening out. Curfews vary just as families vary. If both of your parents work, you may need to be in earlier so that you won’t disturb their sleep. If you have younger brothers and sisters, you may need to be in so as not to wake them up.
Average curfews for teens across the United States for a week night are around 9:00 to 9:30. Curfews for the weekend go from 11:00 to midnight. What happens if you stay later than your curfew? What will your parents do? Do you think it is fair? If not, plan some time to discuss your feelings about your curfew. Most parents are willing to listen to what you have to say if you have thought about it beforehand. Don't pop off and yell. Keep your cool and be calm. Prove to your parents that you can act in an adult manner.
