What do you expect of your siblings? What do they expect of you? Do you expect undying loyalty? Do you expect them always to be there for you? Do you expect them to put you ahead of their family? Sit down and talk with your sibling about each other’s expectations. You may be surprised. You may be shocked. But do it. Find out what your sibling expects of you.
Expectations come from each family. Many families get together only on special occasions, holidays, birthdays. Siblings see each other only when they are supposed to. How sad to put other things ahead of seeing a person you grew up with. Life gets hectic as we grow older, but we should always make time for our brothers and sisters.
