St. John's Wort has been safely taken by many people for many years. But, it can have negative interactions with certain drugs, in particular drugs used to treat HIV-positive people and certain chemotherapeutic drugs, making those drugs less effective.
The most common side effects of St. John's Wort are dry mouth, dizziness, gas-trointestinal symptoms, sensitivity to light, and fatigue. Make sure to discuss with your doctor on other medications you are currently taking before taking St. John's Wort.
