Coping With PMT

  • Try to minimize stressful events in the second half of your menstrual cycle, and to avoid getting overtired at this time.

 

  • Look after your general health and diet.

 

  • Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes.

 

  • Relax by taking some form of gentle but effective exercise - a walk, for instance.

 

  • Consult your doctor about taking a course of vitamin B6.

 

  • Consult your doctor, too, about the use of diuretics to relieve water retention (these are usually advisable in the short rather than the long term).

 

If you feel really bad, ask about taking progesterone.
