Giving birth in the familiar surroundings of your own home means that you will not have to cope with the stress of adapting to the inevitably clinical atmosphere of a hospital ward. A home birth may be something you want to think about seriously, but you must be guided by your doctor on this.
If it is felt that for any reason you would be better off in hospital, with easy access to specialist equipment, for example, you should respect this view.
