Most people have to meet deadlines at some time or other, at a variety of work levels. Whether they form an habitual part of a job, or occur only infrequently, deadlines impose special stresses.
The best initial approach to a deadline is to look at it positively: as with any potentially stressful activity, positive thinking can achieve a great deal. Get into the habit of seeing a deadline as a target, a means of achievement.
Cope with more complex deadlines by breaking them down into smaller stages and allocating a time span to each. Establish the order of priorities, and draw up a realistic schedule accordingly, if possible maintaining a degree of flexibility in order to cope with unforeseen contingencies.
If you are sharing the meeting of a deadline, for example in a team situation, make sure that everyone involved knows the priorities and is aware of the schedule and his or her individual part in it.
