Job Description

A clearly defined, sufficiently detailed description of exactly what your job consists of is one of the best ways of avoiding the uncertainty which can so often lead to stress. Many people find job interviews notoriously stressful: practicing the deep-breathing exercise just beforehand will help, and so will having a few prepared questions ready to ask.

One of these should be whether a written job description will be available, and you should make it clear that you would like one. Don’t be put off by vague responses along the lines of 'The job is still developing': make it clear that you too will be developing (in the job) and you want to make sure that this will be along the right lines. Also, make sure that your job description is brought up to date as necessary, for example, if your responsibilities change.
