One of the best guide-lines for minimizing stress at work is to learn not to take things personally - not always easy, especially for sensitive, 'thin-skinned' types, but undoubtedly the source of a first-class protective coating against the wear and tear of stress.
Learn to accept constructive criticism, and don't be put off by colleagues' attempts to undermine you, failure to register a reaction to these is one of the most effective ways of putting a stop to them altogether. And if your boss seems abrupt or offhand at times, remember, it is most likely nothing to do with you, he or she is probably just having a hard day.
