Self-Talk

Controlling anxiety calls for talk-self-talk. Yes. you do talk to your-self, even have discussions with yourself. Ideally. those discussions get to the root of a problem. Don't stand in crowded places having discussions with yourself out loud, but do it silently, preferably alone in a quiet place.

Start by asking yourself questions. Positive questions are always effective in keeping any conversation going, with yourself as well as with others. Here are some examples:

  • Why have things turned out like this?

  • What did I do to make it this way?

  • What can I do to make the situation better? For me? For others?

  • When will it become better if I take action now?

  • How can I prevent this from happening in the future?
