Research indicates that consuming more vitamin E and selenium provides extra protection. Foods that provide beta-carotene also contain vitamin E. Add extra fruit and seafood to your diet, as well as nuts for selenium.

 

If you take vitamin E and selenium in supplement form, don't take more than 150 micrograms of selenium daily. The amount of vitamin E isn’t a problem up to about 5,000 milligrams daily, which is the limit researchers have used.
